Delayed flights. Don’t you just hate them?! I remember booking a weekend trip away to Barcelona a couple of years ago. I had booked it six month in advance, so as you can imagine, I grew more excited as the days went by. Finally, it was the weekend of the trip away. I remember it vividly. It was a Friday and I went to the airport early all excited about my trip. I checked in and even boarded the plane but the plane never took off on time.It was delayed and we only ended up taking off after 3 hours. By the time I got to Barcelona, it was late at night and I was tired, so went straight to bed. Although this never totally ruined my weekend as Saturday and Sunday were great, it did put a dent in my holiday. And the worse part is, I didn’t even claim for compensation!
The reason I didn’t lodge a claim for delayed flight compensation is because frankly, I didn’t know what to do. I didn’t know the process and I just thought the process was not worth it. I gave up and completely forget about the matter.
But last week, a friend of mine who had a similar experience to the one I had mentioned above managed to get compensation for the airliner. He stated that all he did is claimed using Flightdelays.co.uk. As the claim is lodged on your behalf on a no-win no-fee, there is nothing to lose for putting in a claim and seeing if you can get a compensation.
This is exactly what I will be doing. The two key criteria for making a claim is if happened within the last 6 years and the flight was delayed for at least 3 hours or more. My situation ticks the above two conditions and so I will be lodging a claim to claim back some money for a horrible delayed flight experience.
